Federico Villagra tags a horse

Every so often this happens on the stages. It’s downright awful when it does, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen it as bad as this one. Federico Villagra tags a horse after the jump.

Apparently this happened at the Argentine Rally in General Roca. Villagra is a part of the Munchi’s Ford Rally Team that has regularly competed in the World Championship over the last few seasons, but he’s driving a Mitsubishi back home in Argentina. Both crew came out of the accident unharmed. Wow…

      Oh my god, that’s terrible! That was a hard hit, and I hope we can safely assume the horse was killed rather quickly.

      I would hope the horse died on impact. There are wild horses all over Argentina, apparently. This kind of thing happens, but that video is just awful.

      The Argentine press reported that the horse was quickly put down due to the severity of its injuries. Villagra (”el Coyote”) only lost 30 seconds as a result of this shockingly violent impact, but later DNF’d due to mechanical issues.
