The quest for the 2009 Rally America driver’s title has come to a close. Subaru Rally Team USA’s Travis Pastrana has continued his dominance of the American scene by claiming the overall win at this weekend’s Ojibwe Forests Rally. In doing so, he locked his fourth consecutive driver’s title.
The victory here was Pastrana’s fifth of the year.
Andi Mancin finished the weekend second, more than eight minutes off the rally leading pace. He had a mechanical issue during the opening leg that would prevent him from pushing, but a solid drive from the Polish driver during the weekend saw him claim just his second podium of the season.
Lauchlin O’Sullivan won the Max Attack! challenge by claiming fifth overall and first in class. It was his second Max Attack! victory of the season. O’Sullivan also took first in class at the Idaho Rally in early July.
The next round of the 2009 Rally America Championship season will be Rally Colorado, September 19-20.
