Pastrana to attempt world record

Travis Pastrana announced on his website yesterday that he will attempt a world record in this year’s Red Bull: New Year. No Limits. According to his site, Pastrana will try to “shatter” the current record for distance jumping in a car. I imagine he’ll be using a Subaru.

The jump is slated to be in Los Angeles, but there isn’t a definite location yet.

Red Bull have put forward a New Year’s stunt before, most memorably Robbie Madison jumping onto the Arc de Triomphe in Las Vegas last year. Rhys Millen also attempted a backflip in a truck, much less successfully.

Red Bull have put out a preview video. No spoilers, but it’s still pretty cool. After the jump.
