The United States Rally Championship has updated their overall classifications as the series prepares for its final event of the 2009 season – the International Rally New York.

As far as point structures go, I’m not sure there is a more complicated system than what the USRC uses to calculate its champion.

The entry list for the event is also online, but there should be more competitors contesting the event than the 28 who are currently listed. Of those, Ken Block is the biggest name taking to the stages later this month. Block will be using the same Escort Mk II he used at Rally Défi back in September. Let’s hope he has a better result than the DNF the car gave him originally.

Series leader Daniel O’Brien will be on-hand in his Subaru as will Keith Jackson (also in a Subie), his closest championship rival. It should be an exciting finale to the 2009 season.

If you’re heading to the event, be sure to download the spectator guide.
