I have to admit that I am very impressed by the Blue Ovals. After watching today’s action on ABC, it was apparent that the Fiestas were the cars to beat. It would be nice if they were here to stay. Ken’s practice run this morning was unfortunate, because he deserved a good run. It was an exciting afternoon, to say the least.
Kenny Brack was the eventual winner, which is a massive upset considering all the attention Block and Pastrana were given this weekend. Brack, a former Indy 500 winner, is a professional driver, and even teaches driving in Europe. His victory here shouldn’t be that big of a surprise. Pastrana gave it away after sliding into the wall, but it would have been close it both drivers had driven flawlessly.
It would be nice, however, if there was a way to run the stadium stage without every other car breaking or running into barriers or breaking their bumpers on the jump. I feel bad for the teams already struggling with funding.
Video clips coming tonight.
